Volunteers play an integral role in Memorial Medical Center’s ability to carry out our mission. The comfort, respect, and quality of a hospital stay or clinic visit are improved by the presence of our volunteers, and words cannot express the sincere gratitude we feel for their efforts.
Make a difference not only for yourself, but also for patients, their families, employees, and the community we serve. Find personal fulfillment through meeting new people, exploring a health care career, and learning more about Memorial Medical Center and its staff and services.
Volunteer in one of the following areas:
Partners/Partners Gift Shoppe
Partners organize two annual book fairs, bake sales, Lights of Love Program, and scholarships for area schools. Gift Shoppe volunteers staff our beautiful gift shop. Located in the front lobby of our facility, Shoppe hours are Monday through Friday 9 am – 4 pm and Thursday 9 am – 6 pm.
Our Greeters hold valuable positions at MMC. They are the first person many of our patients and visitors see and meet as they enter Memorial Medical Center. Being a Greeter has many great personal opportunities:
- Be an ambassador for MMC
- Help escort patients and visitors to destinations throughout the facility
- Offer support to families
- Opportunity to meet new people
- Help make a difference in the lives of patients
- Help promote events within MMC
- Ability to brighten a patients day
- Be an overall resource for medical center questions
Auxiliary & Thrift Shop
The Thrift Shop, located on the corner of 6thand Clay Street in Neillsville, accepts, sorts, and sells donated items. All proceeds from sales are reinvested in Memorial Medical Center via donations of equipment or other needed items..
Three annual meetings will be held for all volunteer members, and each subgroup holds their own business meetings as they choose. Auxiliary meetings are held four times a year (March, June, September, and December) at Memorial Medical Center in the Manz Conference Room at 12:00 pm.
Store hours are year round: Fridays 8:30 am – 5:00 pm and Saturdays 8:30 am – 12:00
MMC strives to increase our partnerships within the community. In order to better achieve that goal, we have identified many opportunities of how we might accomplish this. One opportunity is to partner with our church communities, so that we can better serve our patients with any spiritual support that they might need during their stay with us. The Spirtual Service team is available for patients and employees as needed or upon request. The ministers are a valauble part of our Volunteers.
Tuberculosis skin test, background check, privacy with HIPPA regulations, patient interaction protocols, volunteer agreement, and specific orientation or training for their particular position. Time commitments vary, depending upon individuals’ schedules and availability.
