Volunteers play an integral role in Memorial Medical Center’s ability to carry out our mission. The comfort, respect, and quality of a hospital stay, clinic visit, or assisted living activity are improved by the presence of our volunteers, and words cannot express the sincere gratitude we feel for their efforts.
Creating meaningful opportunities for volunteers and matching their skills with existing needs is exciting. While a smile on a patient’s or resident’s face is the sign that a volunteer has touched someone’s life, it is important to note the benefits that our volunteers reap:
• Serving our community
• Meeting new people
• Finding personal fulfillment
• Exploring a health care career
• Learning more about Memorial Medical Center, our staff, and services
Memorial Medical Center volunteers are required to complete a tuberculosis skin test, background check, and specific orientation or training for their particular position. Time commitments vary, depending upon individuals’ schedules and availability. Each subgroup holds their own meetings as in their bylaws.
By becoming a volunteer for MMC, you can make a difference not only for yourself, but also for patients, their families, employees, and the community we serve. For more information, please contact Candy Marg, Community Relations Coordinator, at 715.743.8423 or cmarg@MemorialMedCenter.org.
